Position Overview
As the General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial statements through activity analysis and account... reconciliations. This role will report to the Controller of the Company.
Objectives and Responsibilities
• Prepare or review general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts

About the Position
The Accountant performs general to complex accounting work. The Accountant is responsible for the payroll and payroll tax reporting processes.
Primary Responsibilities
• Working relationships. Fosters good working relationships with diverse people including staff, patrons, volunteers, vendors and community partners. Accepts and completes assignments from supervisor, manager or other Library staff in a professional and timely manner.
• Payroll process. Manages the preparation, distribution and reporting process for payroll. Reviews the calculation of wages, overtime and deductions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Ensures that payments and reports are disbursed accurately and timely. Reconciles payroll tax and submits payroll tax payment. Prepares and submits quarterly payroll reporting and W-2 reporting.
• Daily cash reconciliation. Reconciles the daily cash receipts, counts all incoming cash, replenishes change in the copy and printer machines, and posts journal entries.
• Credit card reconciliation. May assist with reconciling the credit card payments received from patrons for room reservations, fines, lost materials, etc. Makes corresponding journal entries.
• High quality customer service. Provides customer service assistance to library staff by responding to staff inquiries, and interprets Library rules, policies and procedures to the staff. Interacts with staff in person, by telephone and electronically. Excels in serving a diverse population.
• Purchasing card reconciliation. May assist with the purchasing card program including, ordering cards for authorized users or discontinuing cards when necessary, and balancing receipts with statements.

Minimum Qualifications:
